Ready, Set, Go!

READY, SET, GO!

FIRST PART…GET READY!

In Riverside County, it’s not if we have a wildfire, it’s WHEN. The Ready, Set, GO preparedness campaign gives our residents tips on how to be prepared for wildfires year-round by:

  • Creating defensible space around your home and property
  • Hardening your home against an advancing wildfire
  • Planting drought-resistant landscaping
  • Having an emergency kit
  • Being prepared to evacuate yourself and pets

SECOND PART…GET SET!
Create a Wildfire Action Plan that includes evacuation planning for your home, family and pets:

  • Assemble an Emergency Supply Kit for each person in your household
  • Fill-out a Family Communication Plan that includes important evacuation and contact information

THIRD PART…GO!

Be Ready to GO!…in case of evacuations.  HAVE AN EMERGENCY SUPPLY KIT READY AT ALL TIMES!

  • Three-day supply of non-perishable food and three gallons of water per person
  • Map marked with at least two evacuation routes
  • Prescriptions or special medications
  • Change of clothing
  • Extra eyeglasses or contact lenses
  • An extra set of car keys, credit cards, cash or traveler’s checks
  • First aid kit
  • Flashlight
  • Battery-powered radio and extra batteries
  • Sanitation supplies
  • Copies of important documents (birth certificates, passports, etc.)
  • Don’t forget pet food and water!
